Between Reminders and Due, No Perfect Reminder Apps
I go between using the Reminders and Due apps, on both my iPhone and MacBook. Why?
Reminders app has location-based reminders. I don’t use this very often, but I do need sometimes the “Remind me when I get home to check x”. What pushes me away from Reminders app is the lack of configurable notifications. I get one. If I missed it, as in I haven’t been next to my phone, or I want to then I don’t get another chance. For configurable notifications, I go to Due app. It allows defining how often to be notified, what sounds to use. Useful stuff that gives me the confidence that even if I missed a notification, I won’t miss the reminder. What I am missing from the Due app to completely replace Reminders is location based reminders.
I will have to wait until Reminders app adds configurable notifications or Due app adds location based reminders. Maybe both will add the missing features and instead of no choice, I will have two.
